Terms of play
Last updated 10 October 2026
- ¡Cambio! is free to play (for now), for people aged 16 and over.
- Pesos, chips, cards and sobres are just for fun: they have no real-world value and can't be bought or cashed out.
- Be kind. Offensive names, harassment and cheating can get you removed.
- We do our best to keep the game running, but can't promise it'll never break.
1. These terms
These terms are between you and JG, who makes and runs ¡Cambio! (“we”, “us”). By playing, you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy, which explains what we keep about you.
2. Who can play
You must be 16 or over. You're responsible for keeping your email account secure, since that's how you sign in to a ¡Cambio! account.
3. Pesos, chips, cards and sobres
Everything you earn or collect in the game — pesos, chips, cards, sobres, table themes and the like — is part of the game, not property. It has no money value, can't be bought, sold or exchanged for money or anything else, and we may change, rebalance or reset it to keep the game fair and working.
At a private table, friends can choose to play for in-game pesos. These are only ever in-game pesos: no real money is involved, nothing can be paid out, and wagers can't be played with strangers.
4. Playing fair, and being kind
When you play, please don't:
- use a username, emoji, GIF or video that's offensive, hateful, sexual or threatening;
- harass, bully or abuse other players;
- cheat, use bugs to your advantage, or interfere with the game or its servers;
- pretend to be someone else, or use the game for anything illegal.
You're responsible for the username you choose and what you send at the table. Please don't use your real name, or anyone else's, as your username. Video and voice at private tables go straight between players; we don't record them, so please only share what you're happy for the others there to see and hear.
5. Reports and moderation
You can report or block any player from the table. We look at reports and may, without warning, reset a username, switch off someone's reactions, keep them off open tables for a while or for good, or delete their account. A player reported by several people may be held back from open tables automatically until we've looked into it. Hosts can also remove players from their own table.
6. Your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms.
7. The game itself
¡Cambio! is currently free and provided “as is”. If we ever add adverts or things to buy, we'll update these terms first. We'll do our best to keep it running and fix problems, but we can't promise it'll always be available, free of bugs, or that progress will never be lost. We may change, pause or stop the game, or any part of it.
8. Who owns the game
¡Cambio! — its code, artwork, card and deck designs, characters, story, writing, map, names and the way it all fits together — is owned by JG and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Some parts belong to others and are used under licence (they're listed on the Credits page); those stay theirs.
You're welcome to play, to share links, and to share screenshots, clips and streams of your own games. Without our written permission, you mustn't copy, reproduce, adapt or redistribute the game or any part of it; make or sell a game, app or product that copies its artwork, characters, story or code; reverse-engineer it except where the law allows; or use our names or logo in a way that suggests something is ours or approved by us. The rules of the traditional card game Cambio aren't ours — anyone can play them — but our version of the game is.
9. Our responsibility to you
We aren't responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, for problems caused by things outside our control, or for what other players say or do. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for things the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud — and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we do, we'll change the date at the top, and tell you in the game about anything significant. If you keep playing after a change, the new terms apply.
11. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your own country's courts.
